The dairy industry has a large amount of scholarships and grants available for a wide range of people that are working or involved in the industry.

Murray Dairy will update this page with any scholarships or grants that are available.

YDN Australian Dairy Conference Sponsorship - Two Young Farmers

The Australian Dairy Conference (ADC), in conjunction with Murray Dairy, are offering two young or emerging dairy farmers, or farm workers, from the Murray Dairy region the chance to attend this leading national dairy event. Successful applicants will also have $500 each towards travel and/or accommodation expenses. Click here for more information.

Gardiner Dairy Foundation - Farm Business Management Program Scholarships

The Gardiner Dairy Foundation Farm Business Management Program is the major investment in the People Development Portfolio. In partnership with the Victorian Regional Development Programs (RDP), ten (10) scholarships are available to Victorian dairy farmers across the state. Scholarship programs available:

• Australian Rural Leadership Program (ARLP) – 1 for Victoria (total 1 scholarship)
• University of Queensland Business School - Owner Manager Program™ - 2 per RDP (total 6 scholarships)
• Rabobank Executive Development Program - 1 per RDP (total 3 scholarships)

Rural Finance

Rural Finance Scholarships offer agri-students funding of up to $6,000 per year.

The Scholarship program is open to vocational, undergraduate and postgraduate students who demonstrate a career commitment to agriculture including farming, consultancy, research, technological and other related services.

The three scholarships available are:

Postgraduate Scholarship - Ian Morton Memorial - up to $6,000 per annum.

Vocational Education Scholarship - up to $4,000 per annum.

Undergraduate Scholarship - up to $6,000 per annum.

At the conclusion of their studies, students become members of the Rural Finance Scholarship Alumni, offering opportunities for mentoring and networking.

Nuffield Australia Farming Scholarships

The Harry Perkins Australian Nuffield Farming Scholars Public Fund provides a capital base for the Australian Nuffield Farming Scholarship Program. The scholarships benefit the Australian community by enabling dynamic young Australian farmers to travel internationally, expand their personal horizons and learn from leading agriculturalists from around the world.

Nuffield Australia awards Scholarships to farmers annually.

There are over 18 scholarships for those involved in the Agriculture industry and three dairy scholarships available.

Dairy Scholarships available:

For a dairy producer anywhere in Australia supported by Dairy Australia

For a dairy producer in Victoria supported by the Gardiner Foundation

A primary producer (including dairy) anywhere in Australia supported by Rabobank

Greenham Dairy Scholarship

Australian residents have a chance to receive up to $12,000 to improve their knowledge of the dairy industry through the Greenham Dairy Scholarship.
The Scholarship is open to people aged between 17 and 45 years of age to undertake formal study relating to the dairy sector through an institution of their choice. It is open to immediate family members, sharefarmers or employees of anyone who has sold cattle to H.W. Greenham & Sons Pty Ltd.

Australian Beef Industry Foundation Scholarship

The Australian Beef Industry Foundation together with Fairfax Rural Media (Fairfax) are offering the opportunity for two people involved in the beef supply chain, aged between 21 and 40 to attend a one-week Marcus Oldham Rural Leadership program in Geelong. The scholarship will cover the cost of the program.
