COURSE OVERVIEW

Learn how to fly, then apply your captured images and data to agriculture solutions
Day one of this two day course focusses on flying drones. You will learn how to fly drones safely and legally and have the chance to practice with a mini-drone.
Day two is about using drones to improve farm productivity. Whether using drones to observe your livestock, water and fencing, or gather data on pasture growth and nutrients levels, this basic course will give you the fundamentals on how to use drone technology and data to make decisions to improve your farming practices.

COURSE TOPICS

DAY 1 – FLYING DRONES FOR SAFER SKIES
• Drones overview and their practical applications
• Rules, regulations & limitations
• Drone technology & systems
• Basic aerodynamics, flight mission planning, safety and risk assessment
• Practical exercise and flight

DAY 2 – DRONES FOR AGRICULTURE
• Benefits in agriculture
• Data capture, process & analysis
• Drone applications for dairy & agriculture
• Improving farm productivity
• Using service providers

ₒₒ Take home your own mini-drone!
ₒₒ Light refreshments and lunch will be provided.
ₒₒ Attendees should be 16 years or older.
ₒₒ A maximum of 25 places are available

The course is conducted over two consecutive days.

Time: Session: 10am - 4pm
Fees: $165 including GST

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
This course will teach you the fundamentals of how to fly drones in a range of environments and how they can be used in agriculture. It is neither CASA certified nor accredited and does not enable you to use drones for commercial reasons.
